Computational Drug Discovery Course: How to run Sybyl from your course account directory

Start an Xwindows session on our main Unix machine cheminf.cmbi.ru.nl.

If you are working from a linux PC:



Open a terminal window on your linux pc and type:

ssh -X cheminf.cmbi.ru.nl

now login and type:.

mxterm -ls &

Now switch to this new window and follow the instructions below.

If you are working from a Windows PC:

Read how to setup a X-windows Session with our main Unix machine cheminf.cmbi.ru.nl.

From the UNIX shell, change directory to bioinf4 by typing any of the below:

> cd bioinf4/docking (for the docking tutorial)
> cd bioinf4/MD (for the MD tutorial)
> cd bioinf4/leadopt (for the lead optimization tutorial)
> cd bioinf4/2D (for the 2D searching tutorial)
> cd bioinf4/3D (for the 3D searching tutorial)
> cd bioinf4/adme (for the adme tutorial)
> cd bioinf4/comfa (for the comfa tutorial)
> cd bioinf4/QM (for the QM tutorial)

then type

> sybyl The SYBYL menu appears
